Working with Mr. Metal Color

Basically, there are a few steps for using Mr. Metal Color from GSI Creos Corporation's range of color. Here are a few simple steps to follow.

Note: Kindly be aware, that the paints are applied with an airbrush. Increase the air mix volume as the paint solution has less thinner.

  1. Prime the surface of the parts with Mr. Surfacer.

  2. Apply a coat of  glossy black paint, for example Mr. Hobby's Super Black (Mr. Color #157).

  3. Next, apply the desired  Mr. Metal Color. Stir the paint well.  Only when necessary, add in a few drops of Mr. Color Thinner for ease of stirring.

  4. Once dried, use a soft cloth and gently polish the surface. Do not be unduly alarmed as the paint does rub off.

  5. To avoid the paint from easily being rubbed off in addition to give the paint extra gloss, apply the Mr. Color GX100 Super Clear III for that polished and shiny surface. The paint mix is about 30% Mr. Color Thinner, 70% Super Clear.
