The Next Step..Part 2

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

I’ve finally managed to do the panel linings and the result was satisfactory for a noob like me. However, there are a few things I have learnt:

  • Make sure the color tone for the panel lining is according to what is required , or else, end up repeating the panel lining work to make the lines darker .. Worst case scenario, make a big mess!
  • Be as precise and tidy as possible when doing the panel lining as this will save us the trouble to clean up the mess. (wheewwww…takes a lot of care not to rub of the lines that are wanted). An exception, if one is hoping to give a “dirty” finish to the kit.

Here’s the link to the page on “Another Way To Panelling”.

Playarts Cloud Strife and Fenrir

Friday, July 17th, 2009

I have added some photos of Playarts Actions Figure No. 0 featuring Cloud Strife and his bike Fenrir. The designs are based on the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children CGI film. Coincidentally, Fenrir happens to be a the name of a huge wolf from the Norse Mythology.

Personally, I’ve wanted the Fenrir since I watched the movie and it looks awesome. Click here to view the write up and photos of the cool  Cloud and Fenrir set.

Thank you for the 80s Michael Joseph Jackson

You were the Thriller. You said “Beat It and Leave Me Alone”. You’ve even asked us to Heal The World by starting with The Man in The Mirror. You have Gone Too Soon. Thank you Michael Jackson, for whenever our life is Black or White, even in hues of gray,we will all Remember The Time. We will say to thee, “You Rock My World, MJ”. God bless you, The King of Pop, Michael Jackson .

Unzipped : A True Story

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Well, just when one thought that the past week was about to be classified as a Non-event, something happened. And of all the boo – boos, it had to be in the public too..

Yep, I suffered “wardrobe malfunction” in public. Does that mean I get tojoin the big leagues like Janet Jackson. Hmm..okay, most likely not. Here goes..

I was waiting at the bus stop after work, which something made me look down..and there the barn door was wide opened.  With the quick reflexes, I dashed away from the bus stop using my backpack  as body armor in a tactical retreat to assess the damage.

I untucked my shirt to do a cover-up job. Brilliant!!! Hope I don’t suffer any Marilyn Monroe-moments with the wind blowing suddenly. And luckily the shirt was long enough to..ermmm..cover my modesty. Gosh, I’ve never been so glad to reach home as fast as the bus could take me.

Moral of the story:
Check the barn door’s lock aka the zipper
Wear undies which is the same color as the pants/shorts/jeans..Camouflage!!
Wear a shirt that is long enough to cover up..

Well, that was my week..

The Next Step

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

This is it. I am taking the plunge. It’s time to take it to te next step. There’s no turning back.

No more using the Gundam markers…

Tamiya Enamel Thinner…
Tamiya Black Enamel Paint X2….

Dilute and stir. Fine-tipped paintbrush. Dip in to the thinned paint.Test on a piece of  Gundam parts with panel lines. Gently touch the panel and see the paint flow along the lines.

That’s the theory. Time to put it into practice. So…here..goes…

Shaky hands…

Sweating..

to be continued…
